IMPRESS
The series explores the nature of an emotional impression—how an inner state leaves a mark on the material, bypassing figurative language. This is pure abstraction and the foundation of my method. There are no source images here. At its core is the physical interaction of layers, their deformation and build-up.
I create basic compositions using acrylics and pigments, then subject them to physical treatment. The fragments are then assembled into a single whole using dry adhesives. The surface is composed of multiple elements that show through one another.
This is a semi-generative process. I set the initial conditions, but the final structure is dictated by the material itself. Each piece requires individual hand-finishing. The result is an unpredictable form that captures internal tension.
