The woods here are an accidental captive, trapped between layers like an old newspaper in plaster. What matters is not what is depicted, but what has been done to it. I deliberately disrupted the clarity of the image—transforming it into texture, into noise. The result is something between nature and its defective copy. As if the woods got stuck in a glitching system, rendering the image in fragments.
I used transfer printing to integrate the image of a compiled linocut of the forest. Each work contains two layers of print, where the images are sequentially combined on the surface with a shift “in time” to convey a sense of movement—an absence of stasis.
